We have a mix of online and in-person events again next year, and bookings are now open on BEEM up to the end of the financial year. Thank you to all those who have attended our events this term, it has been good to see many of you in person and we hope you have found the networking useful.
This time is well-deserved! I look forward to working with you again in September.
I hope that you have planned some time away from school over the summer, and you take time to rejuvenate and relax. I'm looking forward to continued work with you on this next academic year. We will continue to collaborate with you to develop our shared vision that truly supports all our communities, but especially those who face discrimination or who are disadvantaged in some way. As school leaders you are instrumental in making this happen. Through working in partnership, building trust and working together, we will continue to achieve the very best and strengthen provision within the city.

Despite this we have continued to see amazing practice in your schools with many opportunities provided for children to access the arts, music, sport, enrichment and a full range of wider education. The pressures are being felt at all levels and we recognise the difficult decisions that you are having to make every day in order to ensure the children and young people you serve continue to thrive. Under this perfect storm of pressures, you have continued to show strong leadership and deliver an inspirational education, focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for all.
The challenges presented by a falling number of children in the city, by the pressures of school budgets and the rising levels of SEND need are significant.
At the risk of repeating myself, it is fair to say that this year has also been far from ordinary, yet you have navigated the challenges and adversity, keeping the children and young people in your care at the centre of everything you do. Dear Colleagues, I want to start by firstly saying an enormous thank you for your dedication, resilience and commitment in a time that continues to be extremely challenging.
